OUR ACTIVITIES

 

Our project started in October and finished in June.Project partners from Turkey,N.Macedonia,Poland,Ukraine,Portugal,Greece,Armenia and France learned together about the nutrition literacy and shared their healthy and traditional recipes during the project.They also created a song which is about the importance of having breakfast.They created a common work every month.



​October

Partners introduced themselves,described their schools,cities and countries they live in.They added their locations to the common map and talked about themselves on forums.The partner teachers met online and planned the activities.

After getting the parental consent forms,the project partners started to work.The students created logos and a poster with slogans.They uploaded their works on the project Twinspace.There were all guideliness and the tutorials for the apps so logos were added to the voting page and started to vote according to the rules.



Healthy Breakfast Survey & Role Plays

The kids expressed their opinion and knowledge in the beginning of the project in the surveys and dialogues during this month.They had fun while learning about using the target language,the importance of healthy breakfast and healthy eating.

The students learned how to create mind maps.There was a tutorial about how to use the tool ''POPPLET''.These mind maps are products

prepared by students out of clusters of different lexical sets

(vocabulary and grammer) connected with the food topic.

 

Common Popplet Work

The work shows the different countries' and partners' food,original and authentic food dishes and variety of specialties.With this tool,all partners got closer and knew more about other cultures.

We used official published notes and news on the school websites for dissemination.The teachers and students were informed about the project,aims,working process and products.

December

The participants worked on presenting the traditional breakfast menus.

 

''The Best Plate'' Activity

Teachers presented collages of THE BEST PLATE Activity at school/home where kids are graded and voted by a commission.The criteria is decoration,taste,nutritive value and presentation of the plate.One of the project partners,Hatice said ''The purpose of the activity is to make awareness of having healthy breakfast and to show that we can enjoy while eating.Before the competition,I arranged their aprons,gloves and hair caps.They did lovely plates using healthy breakfast food.

New Year Calendar Activity

This work is a collaborative work.Teachers from each school represent a month with his/her team doing the calendar data.Also the partners congratulated each other on the New Year via cards,decorative recipes,recitals and songs.The second online meeting took place.

January

The students worked on creating healthy recipes for breakfast.

They used cooking verbs not virtually but in practice.They recorded their videos,presented the ingredients and process.

They uploaded their works on pages and Netboard.Also,the they prepared the data which kids needed to play the games and the quiz.

Common Dictionary Activity

Google document was filled with any words and vocabulary which kids needed to use in creating their works and games.

It consists of several sections of different food categories.

Project Cookbook

Project Cookbook present recipes that are connected with the territory climate and food resources typical for that region.

February

Nutrition Literacy Activities

Violeta Panev prepared two lessons for nutrition literacy.And Gevher UÄŸurlu prepared a presentation about it. Project partners watched videos and presentations about nutrition literacy in details.After that,they created food pyramids and did the food group sorting activity.The project partners also used Jamboard for presenting their works.

March

Creating Quiz Questions

Project partner schools created the questions for the quiz altogether.They used the data from different sources:netboard.me,presentations,videos and recipes.

 

Corona Activity/Our Voices For Coronavirus

The students created comics to talk about the food and the corona pandemic at their homes.After watching the tutorials,they created comics to show their feelings.Not only did the pupils work for this activity,but the teachers gave messages on how to cope with the process as well.

 

Common Acrostic Work

This poem is created with mutual collaboration of the partners who wrote their verses in a google document.

 

Cuisines

So many customs,so many tastes.Children were glad to learn different menus and cuisines during the activity.

April

Creating Learningapps Games

The teachers from each school created a bundle of different games all joined together in a common matrix.During online lessons,the teachers taught the app and showed the tutorial prepared by Gevher UÄŸurlu.Third online meeting took place.

May

Creating The Project Song and Singing Activity

The project partners wrote the lyrics of the project song.They decided with their pupils.And the students chose the part they want to sing as the song is a long one.They sang collaboratively to create a common song.

 

Quizizz Activity & Live International Quiz Tournament

The teachers held online meetings with their students and played the quiz game.The second game was played the next day.We held a students-teachers online meeting and our students participated in a LIVE INTERNATIONAL QUIZ TOURNAMENT.

​

Hidden Treasures & Tastes Activity

The partners used Tour Builder tool to add a hidden taste special to their hometown.Thanks to this activity,they visited virtually to different world parts and places looking for the new tastes and dishes and created a common book with the information they gathered.
